GT 64 Review: by Errol Wilcox
N64's own Grand Turismo?
Despite the fact that GT 64 is probably one of the most serious minded racing games on the N64, the graphics look every bit the arcade racer. Racing games are actually growing up, and ever since the rise of V-Rally, an awful lot of racing games have begun to get a little more realistic. Grand Turismo on the Playstation is the perfect example: a game that has real life cars that all look like their real-life counterparts. This game will be really cool because it's a licensed official product of the same people who brought you he game for the Playstation. This new game is also been programmed with a new chip that runs up to three times faster than conventional chips used before. That means awesome graphics. There are 16 tracks and 14 different teams.
More Stuff | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Obviously, this game's speed is a huge factor with the well-being of the game. After all, it is a racing game. But you don't have to worry about that, though. As mentioned earlier, it is running a brand new chip. There are also some more variables, such as steering, fuel, transmission, suspension, and also the weather. There is even an option about how many laps you take. In the multi-player stage, you can alo adjust the advantages and the disadvantages.
The Verdict | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Graphics- Has some of the most stunning visuals of any racing game. | Sound- Not the best in the world, but the engine noises are pretty convincing! Playability- Tricky to master, but worth it! Lastabiliy- This game will take a long time to master. Overall- The racing game we've been waiting for!
